Mahogany and Silver/Amethyst Fountain Pen Prototype I

Designed and made by my father Ivo Daskalov, this the first fountain pen prototype ever made by him.

The base of each part is turned mahogany wood, reinforced with engraved silver fittings. Both top and bottom cap have a set 8 mm amethyst cabochon on their ends. The nib is Jowo stainless steel, M tip.

In total, the pen can be disassembled into four parts:

  • The top cap, which reveals the nib when pulled.
  • The bottom cap, which features a simple screw mechanism. It reveals the reservoir compartment.\
  • The detachable screw pump ink reservoir. It can be filled with your favorite fountain pen ink or replaced with ink capsules.
  • The base and nib, which hold everything together.

The total length of the fountain pen is 13.5 cm.

The wooden parts are covered with natural oils and beeswax. The silver fittings are 925 sterling silver.

The pen comes in a paper box.
